Time just goes on, doesn’t it? It doesn’t care if your drunk, hungover, at day 1 or day 801. In the words of Scarlett, “After all, tomorrow IS another day.” Yes, it is. Since I no longer go through the witching hour as much as I used to, I don’t dread my afternoons any longer. You know, that time around 4:30pm when wolfie comes a’knockin’ 🙂 And because I’m not counting days or fortunately, even thinking about my ‘days’, they just all seem to run together. I am amazed it’s already mid August 2014. Wait a minute. . . . wasn’t it just Y2K?
Ah well, I babble. I have made it a point to keep myself somewhat active this summer. Now that I’m able to get back to walking/jogging/hiking, I am trying to get in as much of it as possible before the weather turns bad. Here it could go any time! But I should still have about 2 1/2 months before it becomes just yucky. I went kayaking at a marina/reservoir on Saturday and Sunday of last weekend.
My left shoulder is still crackling a bit 😦 but my only war wound was a blister on my thumb – the crook of my finger and thumb to be more precise. But the weather was awesome both days. Saturday I went with some women from a meetup group and Sunday I went again with my sister (in photo-on right). I probably would have passed on even going – especially for 2 days – had I been drinking. Are you kidding me? Miss out on 2 nights of my ever precious alcohol? But, truth be told, I would have LOVED to have had a drink when we were done. I was thinking about – a few times actually. Fortunately, I was only thinking.
This morning I went for a walk/jog for an hour. Not the best experience, but suffice it to say at least I was outside getting some kind of exercise. Hopefully, the heat and my head will allow me to try it again with better success. Chocolate and sweets are still a big issue. A work in progress so I’ll have to keep you posted.
Monday is 11 months. I can’t f&cking believe it. Can you? All I can say right now is “WOW”.
p.s. if you see highlighted words in my post, I apologize. I have NO idea where they came from or why they are there.
